The testing site in Belfast is in Ormeau House, which is on Ormeau Road (A24), just south of the city centre. Because Belfast is so big, many main roads lead into it, such as the M1, M2, and M3 motorways.
The test site is close to a lot of buses that run on regular routes. If you’re going to use Belfast’s local bus system, please aim to get off at one of the stops below:
It could be Gasworks, Shaftesbury Avenue, McClure Street, or University Avenue. All of these places are only a five-minute walk from the building.
In Belfast, there are four train stops. The Botanic station is the closest to the test centre. Botanic Station isn’t one of the two main stations in the city, but it does get trains from other places in Northern Ireland.
Botanic Station is about 650 metres west of Ormeau House. As you leave the station, take Botanic Avenue south and then turn left onto Cameron Street. Going east on Progress, it will merge with McClure Street and then turn right onto Ormeau Road. It will be on your right to find the building.
If your service comes into one of Belfast’s larger hubs, like Great Victoria Street or Lanyon Place stations, you should go straight to Ormeau House instead of trying to find a train that goes to Botanic Station. If not, you would waste time by adding extra stops along the way.
Please go to the Translink NI Railways website to see live times for departures and arrivals.
Ormeau House only has a few parking spots on site, but McClure Street, which is right around the corner, has a lot of parking spots. If you can’t find a spot at these places on test day, you might want to try the 18-20 Howard Street Car Park, which is about 500m north of the test centre. The price to park here is a very reasonable £0.60 an hour, which can be paid for with cash or the RingGo service line. Also, please keep in mind that this site makes it easy to charge electric vehicles.
From here, to get to Ormeau House, just take Ormeau Road (A24) south and look for the building on your left.
