Ipswich Life in the UK Test Centre

PSI at The Hub Business Centre Ipswich
2 Civic Drive,
Room 16a, 2nd floor,

A testing site in Ipswich can be found in the Hub Business Centre on Civic Drive, which is on the northwest edge of the town centre. The A14 goes around the west and south sides of town and is a good way to get to the middle of Ipswich. People coming from the east can use the A12 to get to Ipswich.

Several close parking lots are available, but The Spiral and Elm Street may be the most convenient.

You can park for £1.50 an hour at the Spiral Car Park, which is about 300m south of the Hub Business Centre. Please be aware that this site has places for people who are disabled. To get to the event from this spot, leave the parking lot and turn right onto Civic Drive. Then, head north towards the test centre.

Elm Street Car Park is a little less expensive; it costs £1.30 an hour to park there. This parking lot is farther down Civic Drive, about 200 m south of the Spiral Parking Lot. Please be aware that this spot has parking for people with disabilities and charging stations for electric vehicles.

If you’re looking for more parking choices, please go to this Parkopedia page.

There are many established bus lines that go close to The Hub Business Centre. If you’re going to use Ipswich’s local bus system, we recommend that you try to get off at one of the following stops:

Museum Street, the Wolsey Theatre, or the AXA offices. All of these places are only a five-minute walk from the test site.

If you want to plan your own trip, click on this page and scroll down until you see “bus lines.”

Ipswich Train Station is about 1.5 km from Civic Drive, which is in the southwest corner of the town. It’s not useful to take the bus from the station to the test spot because of the time it takes and the distances between bus stops and buildings. The whole trip will take about seventeen minutes if you walk it.

Cross the River Orwell on Princes Street as you head north. Keep going north until you reach the Ipswich Town football stadium. Turn left there and continue north-west up Portman Road. At the end of the road, turn right onto Handford Road. At the first roundabout, turn left onto Civic Drive right away. The place will be about 100 metres up on your left.

Visit the Greater Anglia website for real-time information on departure and arrival times, station facilities, and how to get to the stop.
