Liverpool Life in the UK Test Centre

Car

Liverpool’s testing facility is situated on Cook Street at the 1 Union Court building, which is on the northwest edge of the city. The M57 and M62 motorways provide convenient onward links to the city core if you are travelling towards Liverpool from the east. Should you be approaching the city from the southwest, the M58 serves as a crucial access route. A short distance from the A5036 (The Strand) is 1 Union Court.

Parking

Parking is available at a number of locations close to the test centre; however, we would suggest the following parking lots:

Beetham Plaza: This building is located 150 metres to the west of the event. The cost of a two-hour parking permit is £6.50, which will give you enough time to find your way to the test site, complete your exam, and then get back in your car.

Hackins Hey/Tempest Hey: These two locations are 300 metres northeast of 1 Union Court, next to one other. At these places, parking is slightly less expensive; a two-hour pass costs £5.95. The remaining trip from Tempest Hey and Hackings Hey to the exam centre will take about four minutes.

Bus

Travelling to 1 Union Court is made easier by a variety of suitable bus services, given its location in the heart of the city. When using the local bus system in Liverpool, please try to get to one of the bus stops listed below:

Derby Square, Castle Street, North John Street or Cook Street. The test site is only a short stroll away from each of these locations.

Train

An effective way to get around Liverpool and its environs is by using the Merseyside Rail network. Situated on the Wirral Line of the network, James Street station takes around three minutes to get to from 1 Union Court. Proceed east on James Street and then make a left onto Castle Street to reach the test site. Proceed approximately 100 metres north, noting the location on your right.

If taking a traditional overground train service and travelling from outside the city, go to Liverpool Lime Street station. Passengers from all across the UK are welcomed at this significant train stop. Using the Merseyside Rail network and boarding the West Kirkby service towards James Street from the station’s subterranean platform is the fastest route reach 1 Union House from here. Please use the previously provided directions to find your way to the exam centre once you arrive at James Street station. It will take about seven minutes to complete the trip.

Please be aware that your journey time will increase by approximately five minutes if you intend to walk to the test site. Proceed towards the west on Hood Street and Victoria Street. Then, turn into Cook Street and head towards the location.
