Documents Required

The UK Fiancé Visa is an exception and does not require payment of the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS). This is because it’s a short-stay visa for a maximum of six months. You will, however, need to pay the IHS when you switch to a Spouse Visa after getting married.
When applying for a Spouse visa, you must pay the Immigration Health Surcharge to cover your healthcare costs while in the UK. - A Fiance visa only allows for a six-month stay.
- If you have a Spouse visa, you can stay for up to 33 months (or 30 months if you are moving from a Fiance visa), and you can stay for another 30 months.

How do I change my Fiance Visa UK to a Spouse Visa UK?
The Fiance Visa makes it easy to get the highly sought-after Spouse Visa, which is one of its best features. To get a Spouse Visa, you will need to follow the normal steps, but you won’t have to leave the UK (as long as you do it before your Fiance Visa ends).
With a Spouse Visa, you can stay in the UK for 30 months. If your circumstances haven’t changed, you can ask for an extension on your Spouse Visa when your current one runs out. The extra 30 months for the Spouse Visa also lasts.
If you have a Spouse Visa, you can work and study in the UK. Also, all the time you spend in the UK on this visa goes towards your minimum residency requirements for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) and British citizenship.
You can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain status, which is a form of permanent residence, after staying in the UK for 5 years on a Spouse Visa. This lets you stay in the UK without any restrictions.
Once you have stayed in the UK for a year with ILR, you can apply to become a full British citizen. If you are a British person, you can get a British passport and enjoy all the rights that come with it.
What happens if my Fiance Visa gets Refused?
An application for a spouse or partner’s visa can be turned down for a number of reasons, such as if:
- The Secretary of State decides that keeping a person from coming to the UK is in the public interest.
- The applicant has an order to leave the country as of the date of the application.
- Moreover, the applicant should not be allowed to enter the UK because of their behaviour, character, or connections with others. This is for the public good.
- The applicant didn’t show up for a required interview, give certain information, get a medical check, or report when they were supposed to without a good reason. No matter if the application knew about or purposely made the false statement, it doesn’t matter.
